I am almost done with BA in Liberal Studies and have already taken some of my Masters classes. Since I can also take a few undergrad courses while getting my MA in Northern Studies I was considering a BS in anthropology. Should I take this at TESU and get the degree within 1 yr without extra cost or move over to another school.

Be careful with taking Master's courses before you graduate. Some schools won't count them unless they come after you graduate.

TESU doesn't have a degree in Anthropology, so it's not really an option. I don't think anything related to Anthropology would be enough outside of the BALS to make it worth your while. Dumb question: why would you want to get another BA in a field so closely related to what you already have? I'm not even certain another school would award you that BS with the BALS you're already getting. Many want you to get other degrees that aren't so similarly related.

This is what I asked before because he's getting an MA in northern studies, which is already an anthropology program. After that, he wants a PhD in anthropology. In my opinion, the BA in anthropology isn't worth it.

The MA in Northern Studies does not have an anthro track and I need to take a heavy political science track. The reason I'm doing it is that it is free, and I can take some more BA classes for free as well. If I can get my Anthropology degree it will enable me to be able to teach more subjects, and I have some connections within the department.

You correct and I have permission from the department to carry them over.

Longer term it would help me with teaching opportunities. In two years I will have to take some Anthro classes anyway, and I try to think ahead. My current degree is just to satisfy my VA timing requirement and fulfills my entry into my next MA degree.

Actually TESU DOES have a degree in anthropology.

The secret to getting the Anthropology degree is, to graduate at the same time as your BALS. This way you can pay 1 graduation fee, along with 1 residency waiver and both degrees will only require the 1 LIB 495 Capstone. You will need the "extra 24" credits in that AOS of Anthropology, 15 has to be UL, you can follow the link from the above to get the course details. Note: Not all courses will be available for cheap, I don't recall there are cheap providers for most of those required courses in Anthropology. Just like a BA in Criminal Justice, you'll have to find the LL at a CC and the UL from a 4-year college/university.

You can’t get 2 Bachelors from TESU at the same time, BJ. You can double major/AOS at the same time, or you can get a second bachelors after your first one is conferred. What youre describing is more like a double major

Yes you CAN get a second degree at the same time. I'm doing that right now.
Especially since they're both BA he can do one capstone and get his seconds bachelors st the same time.

I have access to the UAF campus and can take some classes there for free. I am going to discuss my options with UAF in Jan as well.
