2nd Associate's after Bachelor's at TESC?

This is my first time posting, though I've been a lurker for some time.

My question will require a little background for it to make sense. I started out in 2005 as an Emergency Management student, but after being left stranded by 2 other tech/community colleges I wound up enrolling at TESC this year. I'll be graduating this month with my AAS in Environmental, Safety, & Security Technologies. I'm currently taking the Liberal Arts capstone class, and plan to graduate with my BA in Liberal Studies in June, 2013. (Still have a few CLEPs/DSSTs to go.)

However, some of my tech college credits in management did not fit into either the AAS or the BALS. (I currently have 156 credits total, and will have close to 190 by the time I finish.) I know the requirements for a 2nd Associate's are 12 new credits in the option, which shouldn't be a problem for me as I still have some upcoming CLEPs/DSSTs after my first AAS is awarded. My question is if I would be able to also get an AAS in Administrative Studies after I graduate with the BALS, as TESC only allows you to graduate with one degree per graduation. (Or so I've read. Correct me if I'm wrong.)

My logic is that Admin. Studies would be sufficiently different from the other degrees, and help with my job search. I'm currently working full time, but was laid off at the end of last year from my last Emergency Management job when grant funds dried up.

So would this be possible? Or am I dreaming?

Someone with a better grasp of the topic is sure to respond, but I seem to think that earning an AAs or ASs after a Bachelors is thought by many in this forum to be a waste. I must admit that I just sorted through some applications for a position. Others will differ, but, to me, it looks a bit... over the top to put in two associates degrees. And I've been a secretary, etc., and I don't know that an Admin Studies AAS is too impressive compared to you other degrees. You can always list other course work if you think it's relevant in an application or cover letter. Good luck.

You can graduate with 2 degrees at one time from TESC. I am not sure how it would work for you though, most of those I know either completed the AA on the way to the BA or finished both and then went back for the second AA. The problem is the wording of "NEW" credits. It usually doesn't start until after the higher earned degree is awarded.

LaterBloomer is right that some may say an AA after a BA is a waste and I know TESC gave me a hard time about mine. I would say it depends on what you are trying to say with that second AA. I know some companies use programs to weed out applicants, the programs look for specific words on the resume. for me even though my BA was in Math ans Science I wanted the buzz words environmental and safety to show up. So think about why you want the second AA.

Obviously you are enrolled at TESC I would call or send a trouble ticket to get a better answer to your question. and if you don't like the answer you get call again and you might get a different one then get that in writing.

It doesn't seem to me that administrative studies would help much. Possibly a paralegal degree or business management would be better. I thought I read on here that someone on here did graduate with an AA and BA at the same time from TESC.
