I passed them this morning!!! Fundamentals Counseling score 52 and Drug Alcohol Abuse 54.

D & A Abuse:
A couple of notes: Know ALL the classifications and the subgroups, drug interactions, what drugs counter what drugs, street names of crystal meth, What drug used for alocohol addiction treatment. All the side effects of the party drugs and the withdrawl symptoms. Brand names of anxiety drugs. Which drugs are of legal use. How to calculate alcohol content. How alcohol are "fermented". Most popular drug in the US. This test mostly used the scientific name rather than the street name of the drugs. Also about 7 questions on cannibus. Maybe 2 on steroids. 2 Petersons test and a book from the library to help with concepts I didnt understand on IC.

Know the theories,how to distinguish different types of counseling, Erikson beliefs, ALOT of "what is the best choice a counselor should make" scenerio types of questions. A few on the ethical codes of counselors. If you use your head and dont overthink them its not too hard. IC helped the most with this test-I had a hard time finding materials at the library and online that wasnt overwhelming. No practice test found for this one either.

Oh and I prayed before the tests too I know that helped

Congratulations! I am taking Fundamentals of Counseling on monday. Any other study tips? I am only using IC to study.

Know what behavior is expected in a counselor (when to listen), Legal ethics (can a counselor treat family friends), different types of assessments used for different types of counselors, which counseling agency changed their name, breaching patient client confidentiality. My test was mostly scenario type questions that will test your knowledge of "what is the best decision a counselor would make in this situation".

All in all, I used only IC to study and I still didnt need the whole 2 hour time limit. I finished in about 1 hour and Im not the smartest person in the world.

Congrats!! I just got my score in today from D&A abuse. 67. I am looking at taking Counseling in the next month or so. Thanks for the advice. Off to take the Intro to LE tomorrow & Criminal Justice Friday. Again, great job. 6 more in the bank!

Thanks...Yes I do. I really enjoy learning this way. I feel way more support from the IC community than any tranditional class setting. Plus, for some reason I'm picking things up much faster w/the IC card setup. It is a simple concept, but has been working wonders for me so far. Money well spent. Thanks IC!
