Can a test center not administer certain tests?
#1
I've been studying like a mad woman for the humanities test. My test center will only let you send a form when you are ready then they call you with a date to test. So yesterday I download the University's form and "Humanities" wasn't on it! 33 other tests were. The testing center was closed yesterday and the lady doesn't come back until Monday so now I get to stress for 3 more days. Is there a possibility that they wouldn't administer it or is this a huge typo? I wrote it in and mailed my check hoping for the best, but I can't wait. This is my first CLEP (obviously) so I'm taking my worry to the experts here to set my mind at ease.
All is not lost if Montana State doesn't give it- I would just have to drive 80 miles to the next town. But I'm hoping to avoid a stressed out drive.
Thanks!

I cannot think of any reason why the testing center would not offer the Humanities exam if they offer all the other ones. When I take DANTES exams, I have to register online. One test I took was not listed as an option online, but it was just because that particular university doesn't accept credit for ALL the exams. That could be what happened with your test.

If they have a computer to take CLEP exams on, they should be able to do Humanities. Don't worry about it. Smile

P.S. Some universities do NOT offer Public Speaking, even if they offer all the other ones. So if you ever need to take that exam, you may want to check in advance.

Since CLEPs are done via one internet site, your school has the ability to do it- they simply click which test to open, so it's no less easy to upload humanities than anything else.
The reason it might not be on the paper is because they may not accept it for credit in their programs- which doesn't matter unless you intend to earn credit there.
If somehow you can't get them to do it I still suggest you take it, even if it means driving.

Thanks ladies. I didn't know how the administrator accessed the tests so knowing they get them all from the same place is reassuring. I considered the fact that they didn't give credit for it, however they don't give credit for more than half of the tests (they have a column showing how much credit you earn for the tests). That was why it was confusing.
Anyhow... I intend to take it no matter what. My brain is bulging with facts and names. No way would I miss the chance to take this test then purge the info so I can study for another one!

Thanks again. I feel a lot better. Back to Neoclassicism....

Ah, dear old Neoclassicism...

Hope your test goes - and goes well! Humanities is one of the foremost CLEP exams, so I'd imagine they wouldn't exclude people from taking it.
