search question

Did I somehow change my preferences, or is the google search a default on this forum now? Also, can I override it?? I can't find a damn thing.

This changed when the forum was upgraded several months ago.

It took a while to figure it out, but here is the search I like, which is close to the previous version.

"Advanced Search"

Choose Tab: "Search Single Content Type"

Choose either: "Search Entire Posts" or "Search Titles Only"

fill-in User Name, which is great if you know who wrote the post you are searching for

"Show Results as Posts"

Another thought for future readers:

The google (default) search is particularly useful for short words/abbreviations, like GRE and SAT.

I'll try the "search single..."; maybe that will provide better results when I do the advance search. The default search is the one I use for the shorter terms. It took me ages to figure that out.
