Yes, you need to average 70% in all your unit tests and the final exam. 82% seems pretty good considering their convoluted questions. But in some courses, I found some units were easier than others, so I felt better when I was getting around 85%, just in case. I feel the final is harder mostly because of so many questions (50 in 2 hours). I got tired.

Ok, you have a plan then. I am not personally. I was just curious about whether a friend could do it cheaply, without a bachelor's degree. A lot of people don't have a bachelor's at all.

Just to make sure, you know you need a nonwestern lit course as well for the English degree, right? Maybe you already have it from previous college credit, but it is required, and none of the alternative credit sources like Shmoop offer it. You'll need to take the course somewhere like BYU.
TESU BALS Humanities, thanks to this place!

The mind is willing, but the wallet is weak.

Under study.com, you have Analysis&Interpretation... is that an ACE-accredited course?

Yes it is on the ACE list, but the problem with a BA English at Tesu is it needs a non-western lit course (like notgodot was saying) this isn't available from any of the usual course providers and will cost much more.
The BALS Humanities is a much easier degree to achieve using the upper level lit courses.

Excelsior also have a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with a concentration in Literature. The concentration needs a survey course in literature and a minimum of 5 literature courses. I don't know how the shmoop courses transfer to Excelsior but they should be ok.

Yup I'm taking a class from TESU. There's actually 2 classes that I'm going to be taking with TESU, not including the Capstone.

Scam isn't the right word for this, but "way to get suckers" probably is fairly accurate.

Don't pay anyone to teach in China, they are making bank off you. That piddly stipend they give you of less than 2000rmb a month is a joke to. Depending on the city you get in, you can earn 15k-20k rmb per month.
No one will care about their TEFL cert in particular anyway, you just need to have any one in most cases. As mentioned, the only one of any real value is a CELTA (or DELTA).

Source: 2017 will be my 10th year in China, primarily doing ESL.

edit: Oh and regarding their BS accreditation: iatefl.org is not an accrediting body and is just a private org. Mytefl.com is on their website, as are other online or perhaps B&M training classes. http://www.iatefl.org/join/list-of-insti...al-members

From the top of the same page: "please note that IATEFL does not accredit or endorse any product, service or course provided by these institutions" which is the exact opposite of the mytefl.com website where they print in multiple locations that they are accredited by them.

If you want a job here, browse some site like http://jobs.echinacities.com/ and send your own application.
