EC Capstone
#1
I just watched the state of the college, and thought I would inform those who are in the school of Liberal Arts that this year the college will be launching CBE Capstones. Which should make some degrees completely testable outside of the Information literacy requirement.

That'd save nearly $1500. I wonder how much they're going to charge for the capstones.

Wow, just that alone is making EC pretty attractive right now. I'm very much dreading the TESU capstone.

I know they won't, but I wish TESU would accept the EC CBE capstone when the time comes.

I wonder if they're going to do this to compete with TESU? If so, this would open up a whole new set of options for students currently planning on going to TESU, who could then switch to EC if that would make their degree totally test-out-able.

Now, let's see how much they charge, and if they can get rid of some of those enrollment fees...

Things have pretty much worked in cycles in regard to the Big 3.

Can you tell me where I can find "the state of the college" info you've mentioned? Can you elaborate further on what degrees would be exempt from the Capstone?

If I were in a BA program at TESU, I would consider switching. But, I'm in the BSBA CIS program, which has a capstone you can test out of. Even with a CBE for the capstone, Excelsior's BSBA in MIS does not look test friendly. I'd probably consider them for the natural science degree if it weren't for the upper level lab requirement.

I'm mobile, but you can find the link on the website, search for the archived video of the 2016 state of the college, it's an hour long video from the 29th of January. I just posted what I found to be relevant to this forum. They didn't go into detail on the capstone, they were just basically going over what each school is launching in 2016, and made note in their presentation that the school of liberal arts will be launching such.
