Self-Paced Online Schools
#1
I can't vouch for the accuracy of the information in this article but there are some names in there that I'm not accustomed to seeing in the discussion of self-paced online degrees.

South Texas College (public, community college) seems like it could be interesting:
  • Bachelor of Applied Technology in Computer and Information Technologies
  • Bachelor of Applied Technology in Medical and Health Services Management
  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership
  • Bachelor of Applied Technology in Technology Management
  • Associate of Applied Science in Child Development and Early Childhood

They're also offering a free class (not self-paced) for Fall 2022: https://www.southtexascollege.edu/freeclass/index.html
  • Tuition and fees: That $800 could cover two or three classes if you're in-state

A lot of factors have to be met before it's a school we would recommend here.

1. They accept 75% alt credit from providers such as SDC, Sophia
2. The tuition is reasonable
3. The CBE school lets you accelerate (Unlike Capella with module locking)
4.  There's a way to plan out a degree plan with easy course mapping
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience:  CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

I've seen all of them in my searches except 1. I was surprised that UMPI wasn't on this list!

The main reason I can see that UMPI is not on the list is because of the sheer numbers of students in the programs at each of the top schools mentioned. At the very least, it would be 10X or much more than UMPI... other schools that have that much aren't mentioned even.
In Progress: Walden MBA | TESU BA Biology & Computer Science
Graduate Certificate: Global Management & Entrepreneurship, ASU (Freebie)

Completed: TESU ASNSM Biology, BSBA (ACBSP Accredited 2017)
Universidad Isabel I: ENEB MBA, Big Data & BI, Digital Marketing & E-Commerce
Certs: 6Sigma/Lean/Scrum, ITIL | Cisco/CompTIA/MTA | Coursera/Edx/Udacity

Loures University has fewer students than UMPI and is #2 on the list. They have 3 self paced learning degrees. All of which are nursing. UMPI has 15 degrees in YourPace. UMPI's student enrollment numbers only include on campus students and not YourPace students.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that author was paid to promote one of the schools on that list.

ZDNET allows submissions.

It isn't uncommon for these "lists" to be promoted by one of the top choices.

Oh yeah, I didn't even think of that... I remember on other sites such as Edsmart, I recall it was promoting a degree mill and bunched them all into one ranking list, just don't recall what list it was but I recall the name of the school was Breyer State in Florida...
