I'm trying to finish both of these up and graduate them next year. I have a prior BS degree from an RA uni so everything but AOS has been waived.

I have 3 classes left for my BSBA Accounting. I'm working on these and not having issues with this degree though.

I'm being told for the BA CS I need another upper AOS Elective and the Capstone. I'm having trouble with why I need another upper level AOS Elective.

I've attached what I've been given credit for on my degree plan and also where I took my alt credit and what it transferred in as.

Question 1: I took BUS 104 at SDC which transfers in as CIS 1030 (Intro to Bus Info Software). It's sitting under "additional courses" on my CS degree plan, but not being applied to my AOS. I'm told it only counts towards my BSBA and does not fulfill my BA CS. It's listed on the Wiki as applying though.

Question 2: I don't understand why my remaining elective needs to be upper level? I have COS 330, CIS 320, CIS 301, CIS 311, STA 399, and then will take the capstone bringing my upper level to the required 18 SH.

Thanks for any assistance.

I'm considering pursuing a dual degree at TESU: a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. I have a bachelor's degree from a traditional university, but I want to explore these fields because my goal is to attend Georgia Tech for its master's program in cybersecurity, policy track.

To do this, I've completed many Sophia, Study.com, and Coursera certificates to earn the required credits over the past year and a half.

From my understanding, if you double major, you can't overlap more than three courses. To earn a dual degree, I would need 12 upper-level credits. Three will be from Study.com (Computer Science 302: Systems Analysis & Design, Business 303: Management Information Systems, and Computer Science 303: Database Management). This leaves me with one more upper-level class to complete. While I could just take software engineering at TESU, I started to look for other options.

I reviewed my old transcripts and realized I took a Data Mining and Data Warehousing class as an elective for my Hellenic American University MBA. I am wondering if this would satisfy an upper-level credit. The course is a part of their Master of Science in Informatics. Does anyone know if you can use a master's-level credit for upper-level undergraduate credit at TESU?

1. Will TESU accept courses transferred in after one enrolls, or do they have a "last ## of credits have to be taken here" rule?
2. I read another thread that says TESU will "dump" your information if you do not enroll within a year. I am currently a ILA student so what does this mean to me?
3. My intended major has a required course that TESU says will need to be transferred in. Foreign Language BA, one of the major classes is a literature course taught in that language, which is going to be tricky to find. If I do find a source, can this be taken after I am enrolled at TESU? (Similar to #1 above)

Has anyone transferred the IBM SkillsBuild Cybersecurity Certificate to TESU or UMPI?

Just to clarify, I am talking about the IBM SkillsBuild Cybersecurity Certificate, not the IBM Cybersecurity Analyst Professional Certificate offered through Coursera.

I completed the SkillsBuild certificate through UoPeople. The current ACE recommendation is:
ACE ID: IBM-0028
12 semester hours total:

3 SH LL – Fundamentals of Cybersecurity

3 SH UL – Technology Management

3 SH UL – Cybersecurity Analysis

3 SH UL – Threats and Incident Response

So the recommendation is 3 LL + 9 UL credits.
My main interest is the 9 upper-level credits, so receiving only an introductory cybersecurity course would make a pretty significant difference for my planning.

I found one previous DegreeForum data point where TESU evaluated the certificate as CYB-1200 Introduction to Cybersecurity for 3 SH. From what I can tell, TESU appears to have evaluated the certificate itself that way rather than simply placing it there because of the student's particular degree.
Has anyone submitted IBM-0028 to TESU since then and received a different evaluation?
I would especially be interested in hearing from anyone who received any upper-level CYB, CIS, CS, IT, or related computer credit, even if TESU did not match the exact ACE-recommended titles. For my purposes, upper-level technical/computer electives could still be useful.

If anyone has transferred it, it would be helpful to post:
IBM SkillsBuild Cybersecurity Certificate -> school equivalencies -> LL/UL -> where the credits applied in the degree

Hello,

Interested in the BACS here at TESU, here is relevant information about me

Status: US Citizen, Full time student, Ideally graduate from here as cheaply as possible.

Background: Graduated with a BS in an unrelated field from a Four Year Regionally Accredited University in the United States. Currently pursuing an MS online aiming to graduate in late 2027 in the US as well

Goal: To use my BS degree to bypass the GE courses and electives which should total me to only having to take the 45 credit AOS (Area of Study) classes (I could be wrong). To complete this CS degree with only taking the capstone and maybe another course

Progress: Ive been on this forum and just understanding what i will be getting into. Now, looking through study.com and Sophia learning to find the TESU CS equivalents and mapping where to take what. I’m just planning until I pull the trigger on signing up for study.com to knock out ALOT of CS classes which i estimate will take me 3-4 months. But some of the elective stuff was hard to find/understand. Here is a breakdown I made, please let me know if this is right. I also realize I wont have to take the SOS-1100 class since I already have a BS degree (https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/en/curre...ent-policy) outlined here which is kinda nice ?
I would essentially need to make sure I graduate at TESU first and then in my MS program after. I can easily take less classes in my MS to focus more on this CS and graduate later but bottom line I cannot be graduating in TESUS CS program AFTER I complete my MS or else all that hard work from study.com would essentially be voided. The MS program is aimed for working adults so i figured i would just do the CS program "full time" and treat the MS as its intended purpose of being a weekend thing lol
2: the Capstone in general, from the research aspect, time consumption, and ETS major field test. I know I can just grind out the research aspect in the 12 week period but I been seeing on here the ETS exam is pass or fail and you must pass so kinda worried once I get all this study.com stuff done, apply, to only then get booted out for failing a ets exam would be soul crushing.
Again, I have yet to submit anything or even start admission now so any advice tips or tricks would be helpful and ill answer as best I can and I apologize if some things in here may not be accurate, please correct me if needed.

They have changed to website, and now it states that the courses in the AOS can be obtained through their "Educational Partners". But they don't say what those are.

Is anybody currently enrolled in this program and has any insight? Will PLA be the only option, or is TESU possibly in discussions with potential course providers to make these courses available again?

For TESU degrees, how many hours of classes are required to be completed at TESU? Is there a requirement for a certain percentage to be upper or lower level? Does ACE credit count towards this number?
