Ok, so I'm still totally confused. So I have an ACE account, and a bunch of credits on there. BUT, I don't have a Credly account. So, do I go and create a Credly account? And will my credits populate automatically? It's so dang confusing - there's no step-by-step thing on ACE's website to tell you what to do (just things that give cutoff dates and tell you what they WON'T do...grrr).

From Sophia:
Quote:So my IT team just told me that badges will be available for courses that were completed today and moving forward. The courses completed before today will hopefully be available for download tomorrow, they are still trying to fix something with it.

Reading the email again, I think the credit providers are supposed to email us once they've transitioned over. But I also think that's probably not happening. You most likely need to create a Credly account and then start emailing providers to get your badge(s) added. CSM Learn and SDC are apparently (relatively) easy. I don't know about StraighterLine. Sophia is still figuring things out. I haven't emailed TEEX yet and don't know anyone else who has.

Yes you need to go create an account on Acclaim's website. You need to use the same email address as you sued on the credit provider's website. You can add more email addresses after you create your account.

Ok, here's a tricky few:
1) I took Sophia PM when it was UL
2) I took Principles of Accounting II from Ed4Credit (which no longer exists)
3) I took Beginning Algebra and Intermediate Algebra from ALEKS back when they both were worth ACE credit
4) I took the free Kaplan PLA course back when it existed
5) I took courses many years ago from a course provider who no longer participates in ACE, and won't be giving any stinkin' badges for anything
6) I took Financial Management from Penn Foster
So far, I have no idea what will go into my Acclaim account (assuming Sophia & Study.com will work ok), but that's only 9cr out of 34cr in my ACE account! I have this feeling that most of these will never be seen again...luckily I don't need them, but I feel bad for anyone who is in this boat.

Since you're standing to lose that many credits, you might want to consider establishing an Excelsior OneTranscript. Not cheap but it'd be less than retaking those classes again, assuming that the Excelsior OneTranscript is accepted.

They have a step by step on the website on how to get the badges took less than a day for me to get an email from Acclaim that I had a badge waiting for me.
I was curious about how to do pennfoster courses and contacted them. I'm waiting for an answer.

I already have a BSBA, so not worried about it. But I'm just one who has a lot of stuff that doesn't fit the mold - as will people who got their credits several+ years ago.

I know but some people decide to go back to school later for a different degree. 30-odd credits are nothing to sneeze at if dfrecore suddenly decided to study psychology or something.

I'm only losing the one The Institutes class so I'm not too worried about it but you're right; there are a lot of people in the same boat. This is super inconvenient. I thought the whole thing about ACE transcripts was that they were supposed to be indefinite/forever. I feel bad for anyone who is unaware of the switch and who will lose their credits entirely as a result.
