How does one renew membership using discount coupon code if current membership expires on 31 August and has been cancelled? Don't know how to get it into my cart!

Cancel you membership, then sign up again the day after it expires (you don't lose your courses or work completed). Many people here sign up for a month, then immediately "cancel" - it stays active for the full month (then hope there is a coupon for the next month so they don't have to renew at the full price - sometimes it works out, sometimes not). So in your example you cancel today, it expires on Aug 31 you sign up (renew) again on Sept 1 with the coupon code.

Edit: in this case you can't use the coupon code just posted here, as it expires while your account is still active. Hopefully there will be another one for Sept posted soon

sign in, add a course to your cart, go into your cart, keep the membership but delete the course. Use code RENEW50 and pay $49, check out, log out.
now,
sign in, add a course to your cart (I bought a lab). Use code SLSTU50, pay $0.
I got 2 codes by doing 2 transactions- membership and lab for only $49 all in.
