I know several people who have undergone this treatment, it really is "routine", but I am sure it does not feel that way to you.
I am a great believer in modern medicine, my mother had open heart surgery almost 11 years ago and she is still going strong at 79 (living alone in an upstairs apartment).
Once this is done and you have recovered I am sure you will feel better all around.
