"Students enrolled at TESU may only use EdX credits toward the Associates of Applied Science in Computer Studies or the Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science programs. We have added the credit to your record, however it does not apply to your current programs.  "

Thanks for the information. Am I right to think that if I want to complete BACS and Associates in Math I would not be able to use the EdX version since the associates in math would need to be complete via TESU.

I wanted to check in with some updates and ask for some advice.

UPDATE
I am working through English comp 2, Public Speaking and SAS Advanced Programmer Professional Certificate.
After this I would have completed all the General Education requirements apart from SOS-1100.

SEEKING ADVICE
So I am at a bit of a crossroad now. I have a decisions to make. I have nearly all the requirements for the BACS apart from the flat rate term for software engineering, computer architecture and a couple other classes (I need to plan this still)

I would like to also complete a BA mathematics but there is a decision to be made now. Time, financial and opportunity cost.

FINANCIAL COST
To complete a mathematics degree to meet the requirements for the graduate program at my local university I would need to find a lot of higher level math courses outsideif TESU. I have two possible options here; one is though the local university which would not cost me tuition. "This is not guaranteed, I am waiting to hear back if they will let me take the courses needed to meet their requirements" or through other online universities but at a steep cost, higher level math classes are expensive.

TIME
If I look at the time needed to complete the higher level math courses I think I would be looking to add 9-12 months onto my completion date if I wanted both BACS and BA Mathematics at the same time. Higher level math takes time and to try and take Linea Algebra, ODE's, Calc 3, Vector Cal, Analysis and most likely one or two more classes in complex functions/modeling/dynamic systems in a short time would not be possible for me. I know I could not managed for example 3 of these classes in a 12-16 week term. I could maybe manage 2 at least to start with with say Lin Alg and ODE but I don't know who sustainable this would be with the harder classes.

OPPORTUNITY COST
There is an opportunity cost. I could potentially graduate by the end of summer/autumn if I drop the BA in mathematics. I can start to look for employment in the field I want to work in, get some experience and build out my CV and portfolio while I pick off the math classes I need for the graduate program. This would however delay the graduate program start date by most likely 12-18 months I would say.

DECISION TIME
So I have to make a decision. Complete the BACS and possibly an associates in (Math and Business Admin?) or wait it out for me to complete the BACS and BA Mathematics together.

Thanks again for all the help. I know this is a decision I would need to make but it helps to write it out and I value your advice and input very much.

We recently had a student fail computer architecture at TESU.  That course requires a lot of studying to pass the exams.  I suggest taking an easier course as a part of your flat-rate term so you don't get overwhelmed.

I don't know what career you are shooting for, so it's hard to recommend whether a math major is worth it.

Thanks for the information. Then I should take computer architecture via study.com if I don't get anything from the Finnish credit transfer.

So I am looking at BACS with AS in Math and AS in BA (Can you take two Associates at the same time?)

Career wise I am not 100% what I would like to-do. The reason for the degree is due to losing my job and needed to gain some education to get into better working conditions. Based on the courses and studies so far I would say I am more interested in applied and computational math than software engineering / computer science but there is so much overlap here. Long term I would like to work through a masters in applied mathematics but it can wait until I get into a more stable job.

Yes, you can do 2 associates at TESU at no extra cost.

Basically, you tell the advisors what degrees you want to go for so they can add them to your student profile. Then, when you graduate, you let them know which degrees you have completed so you can graduate with them all at the same time.
