Some questions regarding Coursera certificates.
Finished two courses:
Data Analysis and Visualization Foundations Specialization
3 creds BUS 345, 3 creds BUS 3XX & 3 creds BUS 1XX (bus electives)
ACE:
LD 3cr introduction to data analytics
UD 3cr advanced data analytics
UD 3cr intermediate data visualization
IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate
3 creds BUS 440 and 9 creds BUS 1XX (business electives)
ACE:
LD 3cr introduction to data analytics
LD 3cr introduction to SQL programming
LD 3cr introduction to Python programming
UD 3cr advanced topics in data analytics
Some of the other courses that I'm looking into:
IBM Data Science Professional Certificate
ACE:
LD 3cr introduction to data science
LD 3cr introduction to SQL programming
LD 3cr introduction to Python programming
LD 3cr advanced topics in data science
IBM Full Stack Software Developer Professional Certificate
ACE:
LD 3cr Cloud Computing
LD 3cr Web Development
LD 3cr Server Development
UD 3cr Cloud Applications
UD 3cr Python for Data Science
UD 3cr SQL Application
1. If I do the IBM Data Science Professional Certificate, will I only get 6 new credits since 6 of them basically repeat themselves? I actually only need to do 50% of the course since the last two cover it partially.
2. If I finish the IBM Full Stack Software Developer Professional Certificate, how will that look in the diploma transcript? Do I understand correctly that in the transcript I would have the
“cloud computing, web development, server development” subjects listed, or would I have the certificate listed? It kind of makes sense to add it to increase my chances of transferring credits to an IT degree or trying to apply for a Masters in IT. Instead of just filling it up with random electives. I think it was mentioned above already, but it’s best to clarify just in case.
LD - Lower-Division Baccalaureate
UD - Upper-Division Baccalaureate
