I unfortunately made a similar mistake during my BSCIS/BSIT programs. While I did land a great internship covering the last two years, it wasn't tech-related. Now that I'm looking for employment in a technology role, I don't meet the qualifications for most job openings because I don't have the experience. Even "entry-level" stuff these days wants to see at least 1-2 years of work history in the field.
I get that TESU is focused on adults who likely have some existing work history, but it's disappointing that they do absolutely nothing here. Students who fall into this gap are likely to experience poor outcomes which negativity impacts the university. TESU should at least inform students about this aspect of career success.
