Unfortunately, the advisors at TESU are often wrong. We recommend not talking to TESU advisors at all, unless strictly necessary. (Even then, there are only 1 or 2 TESU advisors that we trust.) The advisors are only familiar with what's available from/through TESU and may know nothing about Study.com or Sophia. They often make up things out of thin air. If you already know at least a little Java and/or Python, they're relatively quick and easy classes at Sophia. You can complete them and transfer them in alongside Calculus 1 and see what the people who actually handle the transfers say about them.
