Basically, It really depends, for example, if you're going for the BA History and have 3-4 or more courses with the professor, then they'll know how you work and do things, it'll give you a higher chance at getting a recommendation letter. If you're just taking 1 course with the professor, they hardly know how you do your work as they've only read one set of course assignments from you.
