I quote myself from earlier today (related to a UMPI diploma)...
'Just remember that no matter the look of the physical diploma, the degree will always look its best on your resume/CV'
I will add that no one I know with a US diploma (from many different US colleges/universities) have a registration number on it. Official transcripts are used for validity when needed. Standard letter sized diplomas are becoming the norm as well, and the days of them being individually signed won't return (both due to current printing technologies).
