I don't mean to scare you away from EC, since there are many good things about it: they are credited and allow you to transfer a great amount of credits.
What I meant by sharing my experience is for others to avoid such situations. It happened to me, and I am sure it was some kind of miscommunication along the way. Like I said, just do your best to communicate with the advisors and gather as much information as possible when you have to consult about a certain option. For example, this forum is a great place for that, I would have NEVER found out about lot of options if I had not read this forum. Reading what everybody has shared here about CLEP, DANTES, and other resources and tests available, is what has helped me towards reaching my goal in an incredible short time. But if you don't do your homework, you might end up taking unnecessary courses or tests, or taking a harder and longer route when other options are available. Just do your home work and you will be find.
