Purdue Global BSIT internship instead of capstone?

It is NOT a TRANSFER course.  They offer it as an alternative to the capstone.  All you have to do is contact them to ask what the rules are (i.e. can this be at the company you already work for?).  Here is the course description:

IT489: Bachelor's-Level Information Technology Internship
This course gives you practical job experience in the information technology field. The internship provides you with an opportunity to learn about the IT career field through practical, real-world experiences and mentoring from an IT professional. This experience will enrich your technology skills and provide a better understanding of the level of expertise needed to be successful in your career. Internships must be preapproved by the Dean prior to the start of the term.

When you call Purdue, I wouldn't be surprised if all they do is point you to the Purdue website where it says that they offer an Internship for a credit program which you can find on your own. You're not a student there yet, so don't expect much in terms of answers, such as getting firm approval for your job.

OP doesn't have an Internship. This is the OP's regular job.  Will this job still qualify? Who knows, maybe.

As I said 5 times now, this will not be an easy process, such as making a few phone calls, and then you're done, and you get credit.

Is there coursework involved?

Yes, in addition to your 10 hours "on the job" each week, the following coursework is required:
Weekly Journal Entries, Linkedin Profile, Research Project, Supervisor Evaluations, Student Evaluations.

It's going to be a game of getting the information, then seeing if your job gets approved, doing extra coursework work both on your end and your boss has to do stuff as well, and then hoping you get credit before time runs out when you're done with your 7 courses.

First, nobody ever said it was going to be "easy", the OP just asked if it might be a good option for him, and it might.  It may or may not be a better/easier option than the capstone - but all I said was to ask Purdue Global what it entailed to see if he thought it might be a good fit.

If he's going to be a student anyway, it's VERY easy to just ask the question.  If he has to take the capstone or the internship anyway, it cannot hurt to ask.  Not sure why you think this is such an issue, or why you need to argue this point.  But it MAY be a good option for the OP.  Possibly.  Geez, it just can't hurt to ask about it.
