I only had to take the Programming for Mangers class because I transferred in Sophia's Project Management and Study.com's Computer Science 303: Database Management. The Management & Leadership concentration classes covered the rest of the MIS requirements.
My project used the Visual Basic language in Microsoft's Visual Studio. I would say that it is a tricky assignment for programming beginners (like me). I completed the readings/6 milestones pretty quickly, but I put in about 20-25 hours for the assignment before asking for a Zoom meeting with my professor (I prefer email, but programming questions are difficult to ask over email). We had a few meetings (about 4 hours total) and my professor was able to help me finish the program on the calls. UMPI's professors have been great for helping you understand and complete assessments.
No memorization was necessary.
So, if you take that one, make sure to reach out immediately if/when you get stuck. It is not a bad assignment, but can be time consuming when you just don't understand. My professor also mentioned that a few requirements in the assignment are tricky for beginners and that the assignment could be revised to make it more beginner friendly.
Agreed! ss20ts and Ashkir have been inspiring to me as well. Beginning to plan out a degree was very intimidating, but their posts here on the forum have been exceptionally helpful! I was beginning to feel discouraged in working towards my degree, but now I am just 4 classes away from fulfilling my degree requirements.
Many thanks to Ashkir and ss20ts!

I do want to add, your guidance and helpful responses to me in the early stages of this journey were very encouraging. Ashkir has also been wonderful. His positive responses kept me pushing forward. It may not mean much to either of you, but you two made a BIG difference in my life. You two were the reasons why I considered UMPI and will be officially starting tomorrow.
