IF you do decide to go to UMPI, still apply for FAFSA, even though you say you don't qualify, that way you can get school grants/scholarships.
Any idea on how much these scholarships/grants are? Do you have to apply, or do you automatically give them to you?
This info can be found at this link.
Scholarships and Awards | UMPI Offices and Services
As far as applying or automatically getting them, from what the fin aid office said if you fill out the fafsa, you're automatically considered for them.
Keep in mind that this page is for on campus students not YourPace students. I am unaware of any scholarships for YourPace students. We are eligible to apply for financial aid including Pell grants and student loans through our FAFSA.

This may be a stupid question, but if you use a Pell grant/financial aid, are you truly allowed to add more classes if you want to accelerate? When I was looking into NAU's self paced program, I spoke to someone who attended and they said they weren't allowed to accelerate or add classes even when they completed all their work in the subscription period because they were using financial aid and weren't paying out of pocket.
There are some classes which have an oral component. Some are recorded and you upload the file to the learning platform. Others are completed via a Zoom meeting with the professor.
Yes, you are allowed to add as many classes as you can complete even while using financial add. All full time students start off with 2 courses per term and when you complete one, you ask your academic advisor to add the next course on your degree audit. I receive financial aid and completed 4 courses my first term and 8 my second term. I have my final 4 courses to complete in the Spring Term 1.

They have an agreement with StraighterLine.

Addition to Sophia and CLEP, I should included Straighterline in my original question about UMPI accepting ACE-approved credits.
I was thinking more along the lines of the non-so-popular ACE-approved providers such as TEEX, ALEKS, etc.
I don't believe they do. They don't accept a lot of ACE providers. They accept some classes from the main ones. Also keep in mind, courses from TEEX don't fit into any of their degree plans.
