It's not a matter of fear, it's a matter of public health. It's a matter of not overwhelming our hospitals, and healthcare workers. California just placed a huge order for body bags and is arranging for refrigerated trailers to hold bodies. There are over 300,000 Americans DEAD of this and many many more sick for months, and maybe permanently damaged...and there didn't have to be. Other countries aren't failing this badly.

It's a matter of simple decency.

We can SEE the end of the crisis, we just have to hang in there for a few more months, but we can't seem to do it.

What's really a shame is that it isn't enough to simply tell people what they should do, and have them simply do it. Some people seem determined to flaunt the guidelines, even ones like masks that cost nothing and hurt NO ONE. It's not rocket science, but it IS science.

There is only so much you can do to stop the spread of this virus by individuals.  You are only as strong as your weakest link.  Getting mad at each other isn't productive.
