Is there an computer literacy course I could take from Sophia that might be a little cheaper? 

And I have no clue how to do these ace credits and transfers do now I gotta go read that thread.

Sophia's Introduction to IT might work at Pierpont but I seem to remember someone saying that it didn't work for them. You could certainly give it a shot and then do the SDC course if the Sophia route doesn't pan out.
