I agree. I have a crappy transcript from 30 years ago. But my transcripts from everything after that time/school are much better. My UL courses are all A's and a couple of B's. I would expect that if I applied to a master's program, they are going to see all of this and determine that I have matured and am not the same person now as I was in 1988. If they don't, then I'm not real interested in that school/program.
It's much easier to focus on the future starting now and going towards your goal now. The best way to do that is to talk to people at the school to see what they're looking for. If they want you to go back and re-take courses from many years ago, rather than looking at the recent stuff you're doing, life experience, etc. then maybe they're a bit too boxed in and you want to look elsewhere. There are a LOT of schools and programs out there, don't limit yourself.
