I did the Excelsior English Composition/Writing course with CD-ROM. It was the same format: 4 projects spread over 15 assignments using APA style.
It was definately alot of writing. There were not tests, everything was based on your homework.
They have a guideline as to when assignments should be turned in. I fell 6 weeks behind and had to play catch up.
In the end I got an A in the class. It's possible to finish faster, but I took the whole time due to several business trips that I knew would take me out of the country for weeks at a time. It's very nice not having tests and working on it when you have time.
