That said, for me personally it’s still worth it to pay the residency fee and only do two classes there. Otherwise I’m going to have to do for classes through tuition assistance and then another for out-of-pocket to meet the residency threshold. Even with the military discount on classes. I’m still paying $3000 to meet the 24 credit minimum for the tuition waiver. So it’s a wash for me. Alternatively, I could spread out tuition assistance across two years and then get the residency waiver for free. I’m not willing to wait two more years to Finish my degree when I can have it done in six months.(02-13-2020, 04:16 PM)Not_a_robot_101 Wrote:(02-13-2020, 02:44 PM)Giantzebra Wrote:That’s true and worth taking into consideration. That said, I don’t know if I want to take a bunch of TECEP’s for classes I don’t need in order to avoid the residency waiver. I have Tuition Assistance but it only covers 4 classes from TESU per year so it’s not worth waiting to use TA to cover the classes I have not yet tested out of.(02-13-2020, 03:37 AM)Not_a_robot_101 Wrote: Instantcert Credit has six courses at the moment and they have been reviewed by ACE. I took American Gov. and Financial Accounting through them this month. I recommend them. Each month you can take two courses for 59$ total. Its an amazing good value and then transferred to TESU without any issues. PM me if you want a discount code for 10% off the first month. I'm renewing my subscription for another month so I can take Astronomy and Earth Sci.
Seems like you are using TESU - just a heads up that they require 16 credits through them or you pay a $3000 fee.
If you are current military, the rules are different for you. Please let us know if this is the case.
You get to use TECEP's for residency, and not pay the residency waiver. Huge savings.
I would do the easiest possible TECEP exams - Applied Liberal Arts math, Computers, whatever you can find that sounds easy (read the syllabus). Even if it duplicates other efforts, it's worth it.
