No, you need to have an active sub (or be purchasing one at the same time as the course) in order to purchase courses.
Ok, ty. What happens if you can't finish the courses in 1 month, do you also have to pay for the course again? I need a few lab science courses, but I'm not sure how long it takes for the lab kits to arrive. Is it best to order the lab kits first and then purchase the membership/courses once the actual lab kits are available?
There is no practical limit on how long you can take to finish a course. I put this to the test myself by waiting 7 years between starting a course and finishing it. I started my English Comp I course at Straighterline in 2011 but due to life issues, I had to cancel my subscription before I could finish the last couple of papers needed to complete the course. When I came back to finish my degree in early 2018, I dusted off my Straighterline account and picked up the English Comp course where I left off, finishing the last two papers and then receiving my grade.
So, if you don't finish the course in a month then you can either allow your subscription to auto-renew (which it will do unless you specifically cancel) and continue working on it, or you can cancel and come back later.
Oh wow! That's one heck of a test lol And very comforting to know. TYVM
