Study.com Physics I & II and StraighterLine Physics I Lab
TESU Physics II Lab, it's a shorter version - 6 week lab
For many, that would only make sense if it is required that they be consecutive as it will take much longer and cost a lot more money. The question here really is Can you do 2 level I course/lab or do they need to be consecutive. The degree evaluation implies you can take ANY 2 of the 4 listed and this is where the confusion is. There are plans that do specifically spell out they need to be consecutive. His however does not which is why we are still not 100% sure.
The ASNSM in Mathematics lists discrete math under math electives under the What If tool.
I will definitely advise him to inquire about the online learning and/or transfer of 150+ credits possibly allowing for a waiver of the cornerstone but I've already told him not to hold his breath on that one lol It's definitely a waste of money and time after reviewing the cornerstone syllabus but I am guessing its profit for TESU that is the motive behind the requirement as opposed to "learning".
So far he has completed and added to his ACE transcript but not yet sent to TESU: Aleks Intermediate Algebra; Aleks College Algebra; the free Ethics course, the 2 Free Sophia Courses.
At SDC he has completed the course and quizzes but not the exams yet (he wanted to wait for his evaluation first) for: Nutrition 101, Library Science 101.
He has started but not yet finished: SDC Political Science 102, Biology 102 Genetics, and Biology 106 Pathophysiology, Math 103 PreCalculus, Math 104 Calculus and College Math 102. I'm not sure he needs College Math 102 since SDC's Calculus Course shows it transfers for 6 credits, so he plans to finish that one last.
For the Natural Science he has planned SDC Physics 111/112; SL Physics Lab I and TESU Lab II..however if Chemistry I + Lab is an option we will probably see if there is a cheaper/faster alternative before he finishes.
His priority atm is to finish the ASNSM courses in the next few weeks and get those transferred in for evaluation. This is because one of the questions he has is can he graduate with the ASNSMs in December and then complete the two other bachelor degrees in the same year under the initial residency waiver.
His goals atm are:
- ASNSM Biololgy - December 2018
- ASNSM Mathematics - December 2018
- BS Technical Studies - March/June 2019
AND/OR
- BA Computer Science/Psychology (Dual AOS) March/June 2019
He will have everything completed excepting the capstone and the Natural Science courses for the ASNSMs and the BS Tech Studies by the end of the month. He is going to ask for another evaluation specifically for the BA Comp Sci/Psychology but the What If tool shows everything coming in exactly as expected for that degree. The only reason it will take longer to finish is due to the fact that the three remaining courses he needs must be taken at TESU. If they will allow him to earn both the BA/BS degrees at the same time that would be great, but since they are from two separate schools he we are thinking he may have to come back to earn the BA CS/Psy. The main concern is will he have to pay the RW 3 separate times, will he be able to earn both degrees concurrently given they are from different schools, or if not, should he choose 1 degree over. If he is forced to choose due to cost/policy the Natural Science may not be needed since it is not a requirement in the BA. We will have to see what TESU's stance on graduating more than 1x under a single residency waiver within a year is and their policy on concurrent degrees from different schools before he makes his final decision.
The only way for him to enroll is either with the Cornerstone or the Capstone. The Cornerstone seems like a waste of money tbh, but he doesn't know which Capstone to enroll in just yet. Will he be able to get any of these questions answered prior to enrolling or does he just need to spend $300 on the cornerstone in order to get an evaluation on the BA Comp Science and the rest of these outstanding questions answered?
Edit: Sorry I forgot to add the ASNSMs and the BA Comp Sci What If evaluations. I had also forgotten that on the BA Comp Sci his discrete math is coming in under AOS electives as opposed to the degree requirement of Discrete math. In this case it may just be the What If tool, but I'm not so sure seeing the way its appearing in the other evaluations.
