I remember in 2000 when I graduated from HS, all my counselor did was talk about how I need to go to college. The first course I took the professor asked if we are here for personal enrichment or to make more money. Then he spent a week showing as data how a college education isn’t worth that much and experience is more important. I asked him if he’d call my HS guidance counselor and explain that to him
.
What I have noticed is that courses have become more watered down to accommodate those students who shouldn’t have even been allowed to graduate HS in the first place. I’ve had quite a few courses where the professor offers extra credit... That wasn’t offered in any of my classes when I attended from 2000-2001.
