I'd need to know what state you're in. I'm also shocked that everyone has such an easy time "just signing up" at a community college- despite being in a large homeschooling for college credit community, that is certainly NOT the norm. For a regionally accredited college to accept someone WITHOUT A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA/GED, they absolutely have to have a formal program in place. Most of the time there are very specific rules regarding who/what/where/when/how and most importantly - who pays. The norm is 11th grade but some states are much more generous- Florida, for instance, allows enrollment at 6th grade. Also, there will be a placement exam- either the PSAT/SAT/ACT or the college's own test (Accuplacer/Compass).
Without double checking, I believe that the BYU Indy study courses are open to any age.
