WGU is $3000 for 6 months. Courses are self paced and you complete as many as you are capable of per term. The faster you complete it, the cheaper your degree is.

I would go with WGU for the free certifications, which will be a lot more valuable in the long run. You can't even get cybersecurity jobs in the federal government without having certain certifications.

If you don't plan on working with NSA/DHS, no one really cares about that list. I don't know how much they care about it within those orgs, but it's not an issue otherwise.

Also, WGU's program is only 3 months old. If it gets recognized by CAE, it'll take longer than that.

The NSA doesn't really care about that list, and most of their tech employees don't have degrees from programs that are on that list. I applied to a non-IT position, and they tried to get me to apply for an IT position because they thought I had a security-related certification. I just had the TEEX courses and no IT-related degree. A former coworker of mine was hired by the NSA a few years ago without having a cybersecurity, information security, or information assurance degree. They have a hard time finding people with the skills they need. Ultimately, they only care about skills.
