As far as future degree down the road, that will probably be a master's maybe in engineering (I'm sure I'll have to take extra classes to meet prereqs)Not necessarily. The MS/ME can be a "pure engineering" degree, but becoming common are "engineering management" and other sort of hybrid "engineering+something else" masters. The prereqs for the hybrids often are less rigorous. I've seen them with as little as a single "intro to engineering" (any flavor) class plus calc 1, provided that the bachelors degree was in a "closely related field" with a decent GPA.
If you *are* interested in the sci/eng side of the masters field, though, I'd try to load up the bachelors with as many of the masters prereqs as possible using the gen-ed/free elective slots (unless you just want speed, and don't mind additional classes down the road), so you won't waste time before the masters. But if a hybrid-type sounds good, then you won't have to worry about much in the way of prereqs.
