That's exactly how it works. For example, a 4 quarter unit course becomes a 2.66 semester unit course, and is used to fulfill a 3 unit GenEd requirement. That leaves an extra .33 unit of GenEd electives to do. So if that happens 9 times, you then need one 3 unit GenEd elective to make them up. If that happens in your area of study, you need another AOS course to make the missing units up.

Note that it sometimes works the other way, with a 5 quarter unit course counting for 3.33 units giving you an extra third of a unit that gets pushed into electives.

It also happens with semester units, for instance, my higher math courses from CC were all 4 and 5 units, which helped fill in a lot of GenEd units.

Thanks for the clarification. In your experience, do you think I should try to take some actual classes to get into an MBA or Law program, or do you think my baker transcript with 3.4 GPA should be enough? Want to get the best value but don't want to screw myself over either.
