They do not score cummulatively as you have detailed in your post. They give you a breakdown of what the test covers, for exam 10% of the exam is on how to gather evidence, 10% on basic terminology, etc. You may do well in some areas but not others and that can cost you the A or B grade. Based on the percentages you gave, it surprises me that you received a C. You may have just barely passed, according to the information I have read about ECE exams. They say you should score over 75% on each category before taking the official test. That is if a practice exam is available.
