Over the years, many members have contributed thousands of hours to adding information to this website and answering questions. Now, you're asking those people how you should best leech information off of them and charge for it. The people who would most likely use your website won't be on this forum.
I'm trying to understand how you would charge enough to fund the test vouchers and still make the subscription worthwhile. Why would I pay for study materials just to get a free test when I can just find the study materials for free and pay for the test? Plus, there are all kinds of tricks to drastically lower the cost of earning credits.
First, the Foundation is funded, so we aren't trying to develop a business model of charging Peter to pay for Paul's test. We are, however, looking for the opportunity to receive donations from people with means, to help people without means. Whether we receive those donations or not, we have the funding to provide a service to the community for some time. But anyone who runs a non-profit knows, you always have to be looking for new sources of cash to keep your project going.
You're exactly right that the people of this forum are probably not the intended audience. However, it's not meant to 'leech' off anything, and again, we aren't wanting to charge for it. We are wanting to know what services & information people find valuable and need, versus those of little value/use. This is a great site, and we aren't wanting to plagiarize or steal from it. We are wanting to find out what information is useful and needed by people who have already been down this path. Being a non-profit, we can advertise in places InstantCert cannot. I have actually given classes at some local businesses about how to test out of college, and while yes, you can Google anything, most people have never heard of this option. We are looking to fill a void that can help people.
Personally, I want to thank you, SanAntone, as I have relied heavily on your posts over the years. You are a source of great knowledge and have helped me a great deal. So thank you for all those hours you put into posting free information. This is our way of giving back. It's plain to see that you firmly believe in giving back, and share our philosophy. It's in your spirit of sharing that we want to do this.
