An important thing one should consider when taking these SL courses is the amount of time SL gives you for the exams. For example, in Accounting 1 & 2, the exams were 25 questions each and you have 2 hours to complete each of them. In Financial Accounting, there are 25 questions and you only have 75 minutes to complete the exam. It's a real time crunch and one needs to have good working knowledge of the material in order to pass the exams in that amount of time.
Can anyone tell me the number of questions and time limit for the exams in Managerial Accounting? If it's like Financial, we will skip it. If it's like Accounting 1 & 2, then we'll consider it.
The amount of errors on the Financial Accounting exams is unacceptable. My husband and I have looked over my son's exams, looked up the correct answers, done the calculations, etc., and there are quite a few errors on the exam. Accounting 1&2 exams did not have nearly as many errors as Financial Accounting exams have. And their test bank seems unlimited. After taking Financial Accounting Exam #1 seven times banghead, there are almost no repeat questions. The publisher really should take a hard look at the accuracy of their test questions. The errors alone can force one into a B on the exam. One trick we learned is if the answer is off by a single digit, go with it. For example, if you know the answer is supposed to be $282,107.30 and they list $202,107.30 as an answer choice, go with it, and it will most likely be correct. We've seen a couple of the definitions that were just flat out wrong.
Thanks for taking the time to share those tips! I'm currently taking ACCT I and II, but will start Financial in a week. So happy to know how to approach this course.
