New here with questions :)
#1
Hi Smile
First off, THANKS to everyone who has posted here. I've spent quite a bit of time reading over everything trying to learn as much as I can. I really appreciate everyone sharing so much great info on here.

I have a few questions, and could probably use help charting out some plans.

(I homeschool my four children, my oldest is currently taking classes at a CC)

1) How "stable" are ACE credits? My concern is that my kids will put time and money into them now, and then a couple years down the road things might change and they won't be able to get credit for their work. For this reason I have thought about sticking with CLEPs at first, but financially & logistically the ACE credits would be a lot easier on us.

2) At TESU, do they have to offer an equivalent class in order to get credit? I ask this because I noticed on the BS Biology that they listed off classes like zoology, taxonomy, and animal behavior - yet I don't see those courses offered through TESU. My oldest volunteers at the zoo, and as part of the program they do quite a bit of environmental / zoology related classes, and I was wondering about the possibility of getting credit for that some how. But if they don't offer a class with a fitting description I don't know how that would work.

3) I could use help for planning my daughters' degrees. It looks like TESU is our best bet. I was shocked to see that they have 21 as the required age, a few years back they were *the* place for homeschool teens. If I understand correctly, as long as my girls have at least 30 credits each they can get the age requirement waived. Is that correct?

For degree help:
15 yr old - has already taken or will take at CC: Intermediate Algebra (B+), English Comp I & College Algebra (taking now), Public Speaking (next quarter)
She volunteers at a horse therapy place and will most likely be trained & climb the ladder there once she's old enough to legally work there. Her degree is primarily a safety net - most places around here won't even let you get a foot in the door without a Bachelor's. She is NOT techy at all, so as few computer science type classes as possible would be best.
Option 1 - the easiest & cheapest degree at TESU (BALS w/ gen man.?)
OR
Option 2 - BALS w/ Natural Science / Mathematics, *if* we could find affordable UL classes (exams) that fall under the nature / environment / animals category, this would be better suited to her. My concern is that it doesn't look like there is much available for this option. (I know computer science courses can be used here, but that is not something she wants to do)

13 yr old - Will probably take Eng. Comp I & Public Speaking at CC. She is good at math & will likely go the ALEKS route (if it's stable?)
She already knows what she wants degree wise: BA Computer Science - the cheapest way possible

For both girls - have them accumulate 30 credits then enroll at TESU? Or is better to wait untill they are closer to the degree?

Thanks Smile Probably a lot of typos, it's late lol
