I assume it's been updated since then, but the foundation is probably the same...

For the time, effort, and expense, I'd much rather just test out. In a situation where I would do a PLA, I already know the info, might as well complete an exam. I know this isn't available for all classes and degree plans, but when it is, PLA seems like a bad option.
