SL is going to cost quite a bit more money. Membership $99 + the course $49 + ebook ~$10 = roughly $160
You can take this without going anywhere - and you can do it probably in 3-5 days
The thing about most SL courses, is that you can pass before you get to the closed book final - meaning it is mathematically possible to accrue the 70% without your test (though you still have to take it, there is no pressure). Nutrition isn't the case there. The final is worth 250, so you do have to study some.
DSST is only $80 plus proctoring ~$20 = roughly $100
If you have taken biology, anatomy/physiology, psychology, or similar, you might already have some background in the basics. This was my first exam (though I did the CLEP version) and found that my experience as a woman who had given birth, breastfed, raised kids, etc. was SUPER helpful. I think this is the first test a "mom" returning to college could take easily.
