opinion on officer route?

ROTC is LONG... BORING... and unnecessary..... waking up early in the morning.. going to class... going to ROTC training.. Summer Training etc...

ROTC pay sucks compared to active duty pay.

there are a lot of options out there....

OCS is the BEST OPTION... 8 weeks vs 3 years.


Maybe... consider Warrant Officer ....

I guess it would depend...I have cousins and friends who went the ROTC route and they loved it. But, then really enjoyed their college experiences at a very expensive college that they didn't have to pay for. They liked the training, the summer training, graduated in 4 years with degrees...so it really just depends on the person and what they want to get out of the experience. My kid is really looking forward to 4 years of college, so I'm suggesting that he do it this way, and then if he decides part way through that he doesn't want to do it, he could always switch (I guess there is a point of no return, but he would know before then).
