Personally I'd say English Literature. Looking at what is on both, not sure about you but some of the books from English Lit I did in HS. I did only 1 book from American Lit in HS. American Lit is just a tad bit lower in difficulty on Free-Clep-Prep.com so you should go with whichever one you may have an easier time picking up.
