It's not a big deal, but in NJ, the term "university" is protected by state law and designates comprehensive institutions. It just reflects TESC's growth into a comprehensive institution.

This. A university implies that an institution of higher education is more comprehensive and offers a good selection of graduate programs. Since the use of the word university is not regulated in most states, however, there is no hard rule that schools follow when naming themselves. But, in states that do regulate the use of the word university i.e. New Jersey, there is a real difference between colleges and universities.
