What state are you in? You can't test out of historigraphy/methods; you will need to take a class. Many states offer online history degrees through the state college system. That should give you the lowest tuition. There also many online masters' degrees in history (geared toward teachers who need masters.) Take an online grad class as a non-degree student so you can get upper level credit. Sam Houston State University in Texas offers online BA and MA in history.
