I have about 90 credits, but am wanting to use SL to fulfill some of what I have left. My question is how would this look with the Army and would it even be considered for someone trying to get a commission since it's not CLEP or DANTES? Just curious if anyone has used these to successfully complete a degree and then get their commission.Does not matter.
I have seen this question quite a few times (older archived threads), and am always curious why the question is even asked. When a requirement is something to the effect "must have a regionally accredited four year degree from a recognized degree granting institution"....take their word for it! The Army does not care if you take SL, or CLEP, or DANTES, or finger painting and fine dining courses. If it's a regionally accredited degree you have, you meet the requirement. Now, you are evaluated based on GPA as well, but I wouldn't be too worried about that as it's one factor of many, especially for the guard.
You mention "switching" to the Guard for a commission. What does this mean, are you currently on AD?
FWIW, I had no issues getting a packet sent to HRC for the ROTC program as a graduate student, with a TESC BA degree, high ASVAB, ok PT score, etc.
