I agree you should contact the originating college for clarity. I wonder if on the transcript they are listing credits separately, past as FCCJ and more recent as FSCJ?

Contact the registrar, let them know how Excelsior is interpreting and evaluating the credit. Ask if it is the school policy to separate the awarded credit as 2yr (FCCJ) / 4yr (FSCJ) depending upon when couses were taken? The answer will determine whether you need order a revised transcript sent electronically to Excelsior for evaluation. If you order a transript, I would also request an offiical copy sent to your home to confirm how the information is now recorded.

I must add, I find this scenarior quite fascinating. I wonder, now that all credits are listed as originating from a 4yr institution (vs a 2yr), would TESC possibly evaluate the 2yr LL course(s) with the title/description of their own UL course(s) as UL credit? For example, abnormal psychology or social psychology would transfer as 300 level credit (ie PSY350 and PSY370).

Could you please post the definitive answer from your college? The information could prove extremely valuable to Floridian TESC students. And anyone else, if tthe school accepts non-enrolled students taking OL courses to transfer elsewhere. Depending on tuition fees for non-enrolled students, this could be a great find if seeking UL credit .

On my official transcript the state school treats all the credits I earned while it was a community college the same way is does now as a state college, there is no differentiation between community college vs state college. If one were to not look deep they would just assume all credits were taken while as a state college. However, on the back of my transcript, the name of the school and the years different name changes occurred has caused Excelsior to treat the credits as being from a different school. I know when I applied to COSC, Liberty University, and when I attended Morehouse College they treated all my credits as if I attended a 4 year state school, initially under one name, which is the new name of the school. Excelsior is transcribing it as two different schools. Since its more of an Excelsior issue I have escalated it to the dean of the department, as my advisor just seems to not care.

However, thats a good question about TESC because almost all the community colleges here in Florida are now state colleges.
