What I have done to remain active is to enroll in another program. Just in case he decides to take a few additional courses, or exams, to add to his official transcript he could enroll in a second bachelors. Reminder, the new program must be from a different school (ex BSBA or BSAST). There is no policy stating it must be completed. :-)
I would call the registrar on Thursday to inform the school of his intentions so they will note his student account. They may need to wait until Friday to actually activate the new program. Just to cover all bases, I would also send an email to the bursar to confirm his continued enrollment. Good luck!
