new student...should i focus on tecep's or clep

vaporubo Wrote:Wow! I am so glad I found this site. I didn't realize that I could enroll at Thomas Edison at virtually no cost. I am planning on calling them up tomorrow and enrolling. I am currently enrolled at my local community college and will possibly be taking two online courses there this fall. I think I will definitely be completing the English TECEP and maybe a college algebra one this fall. They give you more time than CLEP and you can have study aids with you and also you can do them online. The CLEP tests at my local college are more expensive than the TECEP's at Thomas Edison. My college charges $125 per clep test.

vaporubo,

Check my signature for two informative links: Pay Per Credit Tuition Plan with recommended TECEP Exams and the current Price Comparison Worksheet.

BTW, TECEPs ENC101 and ENC102 English Comp I&II are both recommended. If you are comfortable with mathematics and plan to take TECEP MAT121 College Algebra, I would also recommend taking TECEP MAT105 Liberal Arts Math for an easy 3CR. Also TECEP CIS107 Computer Concepts and Applications is great to take just after DSST COS101 Intro to Computing (recommended) or the alternate CLEP COS 101 Information Systems & Computer Applications. That's already 5 out of 8 exams that are all general education courses and you would be off to a wonderful (affordable) start to your degree plan.

Good luck in your studies!
