The JD, MBA (especially one that focused on accounting to meet the CPA requirements), and CPA are desirable credentials in tax accounting.

The JD-CPAs have even organized: AAA-CPA: American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants.

For another combination of JD another professional preparation, "A professional with either an MD, DO, or DDS degree AND a JD degree, all degrees from accredited schools, and licensed to practice in either profession" is eligible to apply for Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine.
