I think the light from the big bang would have already passed this part of the universe, considering that at the moment of the big bang, we were MUCH closer to (actually, we were part of) the epicenter of the incident.
Also, nothing can travel faster than light. For the big bang to be visible where we are right now, we would have had to have moved to this exact point faster than the light from the big bang that was also coming to this point.
We can, however, detect the "Cosmic Background Radiation" that is claimed to be leftover from the BB.
